How the Score was Created

The Best States for Car Enthusiasts

Many factors contributed to Florida’s edge, which earned it its number one spot. For one, it has ideal weather conditions for driving with little to no snow, and the roads are in good condition. As for racing fans, look no further than the excitement of NASCAR’s Daytona 500, one of the biggest races of the year. Although Florida has higher-than-average gas prices, it’s not enough to overturn all these factors that make Florida the perfect place for vehicle enthusiasts.
Alabama came in a close second due to its numerous well-maintained roads, lower gasoline prices, and the famous Alabama Auto Show in Birmingham. Alabama is undoubtedly a racing fan’s number one destination. There are twelve race tracks in Alabama, including the Talladega Superspeedway and the Alabama International Dragway.
The Worst State for Driving and Car Shows
Colorado had the lowest score of all 50 states. Less than half of the roads are in good condition, and Colorado experiences many snowy days and hail events that can create dangerous driving conditions. Colorado also has high car registration fees. Fortunately, Colorado does have one thing to offer: the annual Denver Auto Show.
