Few franchises outside superhero comics can hold a torch to Star Wars in both longevity and the voraciousness of its fans. While the OG fans of the series used to have to wait for a movie every few years, now, there are dozens of books, movies, comics, video games, and, of course, TV shows to satisfy your appetite for that galaxy far, far away. From bounty hunters to Jedi in hiding, these shows have given us new heroes to cheer for and more than a few internet memes.

Every Live-Action Star Wars TV Show in Order of Release
Read on to refresh your memory on the seven Star Wars live-action TV shows that have been released on Disney+ so far.
The Mandalorian
After Disney acquired the Star Wars brand in 2012, fans were understandably a little wary about what it meant for the franchise’s future. The mixed opinions following the release of Episodes 7–9, plus several spinoff films, left us with even more uncertainty. So, naturally, the news of a Disney+ exclusive live-action Star Wars show was met with cautious optimism. Fortunately, the first season of The Mandalorian was largely a success among both critics and fans. Following the adventures of a lone bounty hunter (and reluctant father figure) and his adorable, big-eared companion, Baby Yoda (or Grogu, if we want to use his “real” name), this show is a love letter to the classic Westerns that first inspired George Lucas. With Pedro Pascal in the lead, it was basically impossible not to get invested in his journey across the galaxy. Though some people felt the show’s 3rd season didn’t have the same magic as the first two, it ranks pretty well overall on IMDb.

The Book of Boba Fett
Boba Fett has always been a fan favorite of the original Star Wars Trilogy, so it stands to reason that there were some pretty high expectations of the show centering the beloved helmeted bounty hunter. The show follows the titular character as he tries to establish himself as the new crime lord of Tatooine in the wake of Jabba the Hutt’s downfall. While the show had some pretty exciting action sequences, much of the overall story’s execution fell flat on some viewers, who felt the narrative was a little disjointed thanks to all the flashbacks. Still, others were glad to finally get a peek underneath the helmet of one of the most famous yet mysterious Star Wars characters.

Obi-Wan Kenobi
Bringing back Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master was an easy win for the show, and it was released to remarkably high viewership on Disney+. Set ten years after the tragic events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi finds our hero broken and in hiding, watching over a young Luke Skywalker on the desert planet of Tatooine. But when a young Princess Leia is kidnapped, Obi-Wan is drawn back into the fight against the Empire. The series is a dark, emotional journey as Obi-Wan confronts his past failures and faces his former apprentice, Darth Vader, in a series of epic confrontations. While McGregor’s performance lived up to the hype, some felt the pacing and action sequences were a little lackluster.

Andor
If you’re looking for a Star Wars story with a more grounded, mature, and politically charged tone, then Andor is the show for you. This series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and follows the journey of Cassian Andor from a cynical thief to a committed rebel spy. This show ditched lightsabers and chosen ones in favor of intrigue and a complex and morally ambiguous cast of characters. It’s not the most lighthearted entry, but many fans and critics hailed it as one of the best-written Star Wars stories ever made, with impressive performances from the main cast to boot. Turns out you don’t need flashy lightsabers and spaceship battles to make good Star Wars content.

Ahsoka
Ahsoka Tano first appeared in the 2008 CGI Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As one of the few prominent female characters in the franchise, she quickly grew in popularity, and fans rejoiced at the news that she was getting the live-action TV show treatment. Rosario Dawson’s portrayal of the fan-favorite Jedi was largely met with praise, and the show served up a healthy mix of nostalgia, lightsaber action, and deep lore that made longtime fans cheer. However, newcomers might have felt a little lost with all the references to past animated series. Still, Ahsoka delivered a visually stunning and heartfelt addition to the lineup.

The Acolyte
The concept of The Acolyte is somewhat unique in the franchise, as it takes us to an era long before the events of Episode 1. Set in the era of the High Republic, the show presented us with mixed martial arts-inspired action with dark side intrigue. Admittedly, fan opinions were split: some praised its unique setting, while others missed the familiar elements of classic Star Wars. Whether you loved it or not, The Acolyte has potentially set the stage for other stories in the Star Wars universe that take place outside the events of the major films.

Skeleton Crew
While we already know Star Wars can do action, intrigue, and heists, it’s nice to see a bit of whimsy added to the lineup. Many have referred to Skeleton Crew as Star Wars meets The Goonies, and that pretty much sums it up. The series follows a group of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their home planet and get lost in the galaxy. Like The Goonies, it’s a coming-of-age adventure that sees our ragtag young heroes trying to find their way home. The stakes are a bit lower than usual, which some fans loved, and others found a little tiresome, but the overall reception was positive.
